I started my career in healthcare as a nurse, and then worked in sales at a hospital. After that I was a motivational speaker and then I became a health coach.
How did you become the CEO of a private firm?
I was already running my health business, and I needed to raise capital. It was a perfect fit because we are looking for ways to improve the healthcare system.
What are the main challenges you are facing in your role?
People are very hard to reach and it is easy to get frustrated. We need to get our message to a large audience.
Do you see an end to the Covid-19 crisis in sight?
Hopefully we won't need to have a crisis like this again. When we are recovered, we can start to look for ways to get back to normal.
What are the three biggest lessons you learnt as a CEO of your business?
The first is that you need to focus on quality, because only a few people are going to pay attention to your message. You can't be too flashy. The second is you need to have the right team because everyone needs to be on the same page.
The third lesson is that you need to always question things and put yourself in the shoes of your clients. You need to understand why they are doing what they are doing.
How does your family view your success?
They see it as something to aspire to, and they get upset if I don't give them any time.
What is your view of the UAE?
It is a unique place and it's exciting. People are very curious and many of them want to know more.
What are your hobbies?
My friends would call me a foodie and I love to cook. I also enjoy travelling. My wife and I like to take trips and go out for dinner. I also enjoy going to the movies.
What did you find most challenging about being the CEO?
I love working with my team and I think we do a good job. We are excited to do the best we can and reach out to everyone. We put together what I call a master plan, which is a long-term plan that includes ways to keep people engaged.
